The First 50 Pages
“My name was Salmon, like the fish; first name, Susie. I was fourteen when I was murdered on December 6, 1973.” This starts off the journey of my first chosen reading book for this class... The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. So far, reading the first 50 pages of the story was wild from the start. I did not expect so much background information, and horribly sad information at that, to come at me all at once, all in the first page! I thoroughly enjoy the story line as of now, hopefully the more I read the more action will occur. Right now, the first 50 pages continues the basics for a story like this, such as the characters and mostly the exposition, yet the way the author portrays the plot is very intriguing. I never thought I would find myself picking up a book and opening up to the first page only for it to be in the perspective if a deceased teenager, all the while, I didn’t set the book down once during my first 50 pages!
