The Making of An Essay!

• Montaigne - claimed the word essay (to try or to attempt)
• Essay, for this course, will be interpreted as to try to make yourself understood

Essays... the most dreaded assignment in every class EVER. Nothing but pure inner chaos of pressure and stress is caused by essays for me, and apparently, for the rest of the class as well. According to most of my previous teachers, I can write essays pretty well, and I always manage to turn them in before the due date, but just the thought of essays makes me ugh! Don't get me wrong, I''ll do an essay- obviously I would if it counts towards my grade- but I despise them. I'll only do them if they're necessary, if not then I would gladly never even think about them. I couldn't really decide if I learned anything new or better during today's lesson because we mostly just reviewed why we hate essays and why some teachers shouldn't assign them. Although, something that did stick with me and perhaps even gave me a little more encouragement was when our teacher said that we would all try to take our negative views on essays and make them a little more positive- through learning.
