How I Read

Notes on Today's Class Lesson:

Amateurs love what they do!
-they're seen as people who don't get paid enough for the talent that they have

Ex: the class full of boys felt that the new rules, even when given by their teacher, were not good and would lead them to not succeed because they are not the rules they are used to

*we fear what we don't understand*

sfumato: the technique of oil painting which colors or tones are blended in such a subtle manner that they melt into one another without perceptible transitions, lines or edges

Ways to love the book you are reading, all while trying to analyze and understand the work of literature for others to know you are knowledgeable:

1. Read a book you love
2. Seek to better understand the books you don't love
3.Reconsider how you define the word read
4. Stop looking for the answers in the text and start learning how to create the answer yourself

  • don't let technical analysis interfere with your love for reading

So basically, do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life.
