Literature Analysis #2

Part Two of Literature Analysis, with different questions and a different book :)

  1. What drew me to this book... let's see, the fact that it was buried in the back of my book shelf of forgotten books, it's actually my sister's book and it's one of the only books in my house that I haven't read. My sister told me that the book was written by her English professor and it held many stories of controversial topics but nonetheless it was very... interesting? So when I opened the book and began to read, I expected to feel all sorts of emotions towards the context, partial disgust maybe at the controversial/sensitive topics that were being discussed but also some sort of curiosity that left me questioning, well, what happens now? after every page I turned.
  2. After the first ten pages I expected myself to give up and not want to submerge myself in any more of the story, but in fact, I was intrigued. Every page I turned I found myself being in a state of confusion but also curiosity. This book was purely focused on psychology and the brain- what it does, how it works, what it thinks, and how it affects you. I expected myself to get bored, in all honesty I did a few times but that was only because it discussed topics on things I never really thought about- it was kind of an eye-opener because there were a few times when I would let out a small "oooh." That's really what kept me reading, just my curiosity and my driven will of wanting to understand and wanting to comprehend what the book was truly trying to convey to the audience.
  3. My reading habits, how exactly can I describe them? I have this habit of needing to read only when everything is quiet ( just now I had to leave my dining table, where I always do my homework, and had to transfer myself to my room where there was no TV blaring or no phones ringing). I have this minor habit, that I discovered not that long ago, where I have to take notes or label sticky notes everywhere in my book if something stuck out to me or I didn't understand something and I would have to go back later to do research on it. I don't have many reading habits and I don't know the types that you're looking for but those were the first couple that came to my head.
