Realism: literally about keeping it real; journalistic kind of way of showing the world.
-Richard Cory was one of the earliest examples of realism

Modernism: a movement that aims to break with classical and traditional forms.
two types of people who break the rules: the type that doesn't know the rules and the ones that want to be different

  • Modern writers: they wrote in incomplete sentences and they didn't capitalize things.
