Finally! Chapter 8 notes! (more Gatsby)
Vocabulary Learned
Redolent: strongly sweet smelling (reminiscent)
Stratum: a level that people are categorized due to their social status
Vestibule:
-Daisy seems selfish, letting Gatsby stay outside her house until 4 am (how hard is it for her to simply turn the light switch off? Seriously, what a witch)
-Gatsby tells Nick about how he managed to convince Daisy that he was rich and would be able to take care of her in the future (he was poor)
-Nick hears about how Gatsby thought he would get what he wanted for Daisy and just leave her (cough cough) but he ended up falling in love... very hard.

- Gatsby ends up telling Nick that nothing happened between Tom and Daisy, but simply that Daisy didn't end up switch the light until 4 am
- Nick takes the opportunity to suggest that Gatsby go to Montreal or Atlanta to get away for a bit, but he rejects because he doesn't want to leave Daisy (big shocker)
- Gatsby once again, explains to Nick how madly in love he fell for Daisy even though that's not what he originally planned
- Gatsby's servant interrupts Nick and his talk to tell him that he would drain the pool, I think that Fitzgerald to calm down the energy and include the saying about the weather and how the weather is important to this whole book so far. Gatsby hasn't swam in his pool all summer, so maybe he'd like to do it atleast once before tragic Autumn starts.
- Nick gets to work and suddenly the narrative changes drastically. George Wilson shot Gatsby, and then he shot himself. So much murder in like two paragraphs all of us were truly confused and stunned. I don't really know what it would represent but I know that it was a lot to take in.
