What Gatsby says to me

What is the central message (theme) of the book is so far?

Honestly, reading Gatsby now- I have no idea what the central idea could be. There's topics about love and long lost lovers, or watching out for those who are actually true to everyone else and themselves, or even just to simply be careful who you trust. The Great Gatsby has such a varied plot because of all the things that the characters go through and all the immediate scene changes, I never know what to expect next. What I'm thinking is that "No matter how much wealth and rich you own or are surrounded by, nothing (nothing) will ever satisfy the desire and empty void in your life that needs love." I think the main focuses are wealth, love, and who is truly honest to everyone.
