Give us a hand
In today's reading, Granger talks about his grandfather.
Granger's grandfather was a sculptor, a very kind man with a lot of love to give. He helped clean up the slum in their town, he even built toys for him and the kids. The point is that he was always busy with his hands, no matter what he did he was always busy with his hands. So, when he died, Granger wasn't really crying because he would miss his grandfather, he was crying because he would miss what his grandfather did. His grandfather was part of them, part of the town and everything because of everything he did. He shaped the world, with his hands, and when he died all the action he did stopped. I guess that in this sense, it proves that our actions really do define us. Everything we do is remembered, that's how we're remembered. The actions we do are practically the legacies we leave behind when we pass. Something about the description that made an impression on me was that his grandfather was always known, because of what he did, and that to me makes him seem like a good man. In a way, Granger's grandfather used his hands to change the world, but the world managed to stop spinning once he passed.
