Journal [April 17]

Montag kills Beatty, and the mechanical hound, and then runs for his life.

This topic is quite difficult because I don't really know when it's wise to escape danger by fleeing. My initial thought was that it would be smart to flee when you know you didn't commit a crime, but I think it's best to turn yourself in during those situations so you don't look guilty. Fleeing just shows that you're guilty... unless you're in a dangerous situation? You see, my mind can't really figure this situation out. Anyways, I think it's important to turn and defend yourself when you don't really have much of an option. I would say continue fleeing from danger, keeping yourself safe and alive would be the best, and once you run out of safe places or have come up with a good life-saving plan, then it's time. I would teach to younger kids, if they were in this situation, to not always be scared for life, because if you continue to hide all the time and never defend yourself, then you'll never be able to say that you stood up.
