A time I laughed when it was absolutely not appropriate?

I'd say many times. Sometimes my family gathers up to talk about serious matters, especially because my mom just wants us to sit and talk a few times, and we'll end up talking about a serious matter but I end up laughing. The reason is that I'm someone who will ignore sad or angry feelings by making a situation funny. I try to make situations less heavy and painful than they really are by making a joke or laughing so that it can decrease the tension. I don't like it when things get serious in a threatening way, so I tend to laugh so that it won't be as serious, but most of the time it'll backfire. My mom will look at me and ask what's so funny? If it's so funny then why am I not laughing? in that scary voice that every mom has. I don't know, I can't really pinpoint the exact time that it has happened, because it's happened many times.
